Supporting Mental Health Heroes

Taking the burden of the backend of private practice so therapists can focus on what matters most

Alpyne Labs builds tools to support mental health providers.

We believe that mental health professionals are essential to a better world. But right now, they're overwhelmed with administrative work—hours spent fighting with insurance portals, filling out forms, and managing logistics instead of caring for clients. Our mission is to change that.

The problem is stark and pervasive: therapists didn't go to school to become paperwork experts. And yet, many spend 20–40% of their time on administrative tasks. That's time that could be spent resting, growing their practice, or doing clinical work. This burden contributes to burnout, forces therapists to work evenings and weekends, and ultimately reduces the quality and availability of mental health care.

Alpyne Labs exists to take that burden off their shoulders. Our goal is to automate the backend of private practice—from intake and credentialing to claim follow-ups and renewal reminders—so therapists can work fewer evenings and weekends and avoid burnout. We want to give them back time for what matters most: their clients, their families, and their own well-being.

Alpyne Labs was founded by Justin Ith and Michelle Arendas, two builders passionate about solving meaningful problems in healthcare. They bring over twenty years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management and applied machine learning products. They now bring a mission-driven focus to mental health, working with a distributed team across the U.S. from their bases in Seattle and San Diego.

Our first step in this mission is Juno, a desktop-based digital assistant for therapists in private practice. Juno handles everything from scheduling and billing to insurance verification and credentialing—just like a human assistant would. Built to integrate seamlessly with EHR systems and payer portals, Juno frees up therapists to focus on what matters most: their clients.

We designed Juno to feel like a real teammate—one you can talk to, delegate to, and trust to get things done. It lives on your desktop, listens to your voice or typed commands, and works quietly in the background so you don't have to think about the administrative burden of running a practice.

Juno is just the beginning. In the long run, Alpyne Labs aims to expand into tools that help therapists grow their practices, from referral networks to client engagement and marketing automation. But we'll always hold to the same core principle: keep the clinical relationship sacred, and take care of the rest.

Our AI Ethics Policy

We believe clinical work is sacred. The relationship between therapist and client is built on trust, presence, and deep human connection—and nothing should interfere with that. That's why we're committed to never building AI that replaces or interferes with clinical judgment or the therapeutic alliance.

Our Promise

Our tools are designed to serve the therapist, not the therapy. We build in the background so clinicians can be fully present in the room.

Our Belief

AI can be powerful, but we believe its role in mental health should be to support the humans doing the healing—not to try to do the healing itself.
